Winter Math Mystery: The Case of the Smashed Snowmen

Description Ideal for math in the early years: Depending on the ability of your students and where your class is up to in the curriculum, this could be used in first grade and early on in second grade. These mysteries are less challenging than the regular math mystery packets in my range. The 5 W’s math mysteries are ideal if you like the idea of solving a math mystery, but need the whole format to be easier. __________________________________________________________________ The goal of this mystery is to review: Missing numbers in counting sequences, Subtraction facts (1-20), Addition facts (1-20), and comparing numbers up to 65 Place Value Models (up to 20 only) This fun detective story also encourages literacy skills as students must read simple sentences, comprehend and match the information given with a text picture stencil to present in their mystery case file. You can choose to use this resource in a number of ways.
